BPMS and BI

Current State

Missing connection between BPMS and BI systems. BI does not have any intrinsic notion of state.

BI historically reports on ETL/data aggregation, no process context and no ability to take action.

The Outcome

A standard exchange format exists between BPMS and BI, allowing BI systems to capture state and show transition.

Operational intelligence based on process context managed by BPM Suite.

BI can then incorporate “process context” when reporting. Potential for meta-models that define “process context” that are shared between BPM and BI. Potential for a new OMG initiative to define a model for interoperability.
